Working out on a Budget

Who ever said that a gym membership or fancy equipment was required for a satisfying workout? What about old fashion push ups? There are plenty of exercises to do at home that do not require the use of machines. Such as push ups, jumping jacks, jogging in place, crunches etc... There is a lot of things to do without having to spend a ton of money at the gym. Any workout will offer results over time as long as they are done daily. Another option at home that does not cost a lot is an exercise video. Most ab workouts are done on the floor with out the use of machines. A good tip when doing any ab exercise is to keep your neck and shoulders off the ground, so that your stomcahe remains contracted by doing this you are not allowing the stomach muscle to stretch out, which will help to see results. If you already have a gym membership or workout on machines at home, still try and add theses basic exercises to your routine.

The Sun Welcomes Outdoor Fitness

Tired of walking on that treadmill and not getting anywhere? Try walking around your neighborhood. Now that the sun is finally here, it's a great time to get outside and change up the workout. So far this spring I have added bicycle riding and I am enjoying it very much. I have been riding about 3 days a week on a local trail for 15 to 25 miles. What I hear from the physically fit is that changing up a routine weekly or even daily will give the most results from a workout. I agree with them and I would also add in consistency which seems to be my biggest struggle. Working out on a treadmill or an elliptical machine is great cardio, but try changing up the resistance going from easy to hard within 30 minutes. Of course it will be a tougher workout, but I think you will be satisfied with the results. Keep working out and try to explore some outdoor exercise.
