Working out on a Budget

Who ever said that a gym membership or fancy equipment was required for a satisfying workout? What about old fashion push ups? There are plenty of exercises to do at home that do not require the use of machines. Such as push ups, jumping jacks, jogging in place, crunches etc... There is a lot of things to do without having to spend a ton of money at the gym. Any workout will offer results over time as long as they are done daily. Another option at home that does not cost a lot is an exercise video. Most ab workouts are done on the floor with out the use of machines. A good tip when doing any ab exercise is to keep your neck and shoulders off the ground, so that your stomcahe remains contracted by doing this you are not allowing the stomach muscle to stretch out, which will help to see results. If you already have a gym membership or workout on machines at home, still try and add theses basic exercises to your routine.

The Sun Welcomes Outdoor Fitness

Tired of walking on that treadmill and not getting anywhere? Try walking around your neighborhood. Now that the sun is finally here, it's a great time to get outside and change up the workout. So far this spring I have added bicycle riding and I am enjoying it very much. I have been riding about 3 days a week on a local trail for 15 to 25 miles. What I hear from the physically fit is that changing up a routine weekly or even daily will give the most results from a workout. I agree with them and I would also add in consistency which seems to be my biggest struggle. Working out on a treadmill or an elliptical machine is great cardio, but try changing up the resistance going from easy to hard within 30 minutes. Of course it will be a tougher workout, but I think you will be satisfied with the results. Keep working out and try to explore some outdoor exercise.

A Helpful Website & Blog

I would like to introduce a blog I found while surfing the technorati website. The blog is titled Health Life and takes you through 16 amazing tips to looking and feeling great. The tips start out with the basics incorporating safety tips, such as starting out slow with out becoming over aggressive. Then it takes you into helpful hints like keeping a journal, keeping your exercise plan detailed. The site also provides the warnings of exercising like always making sure you stretch, drink plenty of water, and never skip meals. Most importantly the blog reminds you to enjoy the kind of exercising you are doing. On the side bar of the blog there are links to previous post that give you the answers to fitness myths and tips on how to get a beach ready body.

Next I would like to introduce a website titled Exercise Life Tips. The website runs you through the types of exercising like core, calorie burning, aerobic, weight training, and cardio. It offers a brief description about everyone of them. It also discusses how exercise is beneficial to your health. The site also talks about exercising on a budget because that can be an issue for many.

I found both the blog and the website very informative. I think they both offer a lot of good tips for beginners and for people who want to fine tune their workout routine. I especially like the blog because it not only talks about exercising, but also factors in the health aspects such as not skipping meals and also the safety measures such as always remembering to stretch first.

If your interested in fitness definitely take the time to view these two links:)

Why Exercise?

People tend to make excuses on why not to exercise,so I thought I would give you some reasons why you should exercise. Besides the obvious to loose weight, exercising regularly can benefit your health. Exercising for 3-4 days a week for at least 30 minutes will lower your risk of heart disease, diabetes, and cancer. It will also help to lower cholesterol and high blood pressure. Aside from disease prevention it will boost your strength level and gain energy for every day life. Depending on your fitness goals you can choose to join a gym and get a personal trainer or you can choose to workout at home by yourself or with a friend. It's always beneficial to have a friend to workout with for motivation and support. Exercising for 30 minutes a day could be as simple as taking your dog for a walk around the neighborhood. As long as your doing some sort of physical activity you are benefiting your health.
